my parents came to visit over spring break. we had a great week just hanging around houston. the weather was so pretty, and the kids pretty much think their grandma and pop pop are the best thing ever.
we wanted to go to the rodeo while they were here, so, being the frugal dutch girl, i bought tickets for us to go on 'value wednesday'. apparently there are about a gazillion other frugal people who had the same idea. much of the day was spent taking turns standing in line for kids rides or trying to find shade. the kids loved it!
oh. and carter won this bad boy all on his own about 20 minutes after
we arrived. arie was promptly kicked out of the stroller, and my poor
mom spent the rest of the time trying to maneuver the worlds largest
pillow pet among the carnival throngs.
also, carter was less than impressed with the smells in the livestock rows.
we actually went home to rest and then came back again at night for the
actual rodeo. our seats were pretty high up but we told kids the higher
the better (set those expectations low, y'all) so they were totally
impressed. i haven't been to the rodeo part in years so it was fun to watch. but i think next year we'll save our pennies and spring for a
rodeo trip on any other day than value wednesday...
arie did great!
