but now, i am starting to feel guilty for some of the ways i have been dishonest with eden. for example, we have mostly been able to avoid the whiny, 'i want that' breakdown in the store check-out line. but one time recently eden noticed that it is filled with a lot of colorful and tasty looking candy. so she started asking me for a candy. i was caught a bit off guard so i said the first thing i could think of to deter her from wanting it. i said, 'we don't want that candy. it's super spicy.' eden is slightly afraid of spicy foods due to an unfortunate incident with some hot queso, so this response worked perfectly. i wonder if it's going to come back and bite me in ass one of these days....
