me: 'how was rodeo day at school, eden?'
eden: 'good. we did a parade.'
me: 'did you like wearing your boots?'
eden: 'yes. and you know why i need to wear cowboy boots?'
me: 'why?'
eden: 'well, when we go up in the hills and there is a snake, then it can't bite me because i am wearing boots.'
me: 'that's good, we wouldn't want a snake to bite you.'
eden: yes, but you're not wearing boots so watch out mom.'
