jet lag and a two year old

well, we are home from a wonderful trip to south africa. i can't wait to post pictures once i get organized. for now, we are just trying to recover from the 24+ hour trip home and 2 major time zone changes. if you note the time, it's about 2:20AM. eden went to bed around 6:30 last night and around 1:30, i woke up to hear her crying for daddy. but not from her crib. apparantly she can climb out of her crib (news to us).... she was at the top of the stairs behind the gate. almost gave me a heart attack. so i put her back and for the moment am 'standing guard' near her bedroom door (which means i might be doing some web surfing in the wee morning hours until we get this straightened out...). is it okay to lock a toddler in their room or are there laws against that? :)
