heartbreaker

this boy is awesomesauce.  in school they have a 'color system' where you start on 'ready to learn' and can go up or down throughout the day.  i'm not going to lie, y'all. carter has had a bit of an adjustment to this system.  let's just say his 'problem areas' are listening and following directions.  wha? no? well i never!
{i have it on good authority (mother in law) that his father had some of these very issues as a young lad}  anyway, the other day i asked carter about being moved down and here's how the convo went:

me:  carter, what's going on?  mrs. r said you are having a problem talking when you need to be listening.
carter: mom.
me: what?
carter: mom.
me: what?
carter:  mom, people just really want to hear me talk.
