holly jolly

not sure why, but i took about a zillion pictures of our trip to iowa for christmas. it was great.
i feel like the last few months have flown by. our kids are getting so big! eden is tall and lovely; she has a kind heart and truly loves school. carter is boisterous and rowdy, he loves to play 'bad guys' and 'superheroes', but he still loves to cuddle with his mama on the couch. he makes us laugh every day. arie is growing too! he is starting to share some sweet smiles and be more content in his surroundings. he has added a new joy to our family. sometimes i look at the three of them and wonder, 'are those mine?!'. most days i mean that in a happy, sentimentally thankful way. other days not so much...:) but truly i am so thankful for a safe and good trip to snowy and cold iowa--for lots of time to relax, eat, play games, talk and rest. but mostly for the celebration of the best gift ever--Jesus. in church on sunday the pastor said something about christmas being over and carter turned to me and said in surprise, 'what??!! christmas is over? no it's not! jesus was born! and there is still snow so it's still christmas!'. how amazing that we can celebrate this every day, every year until He comes to earth again!
