i have learned to love houston, it has been our home now for over six years. this morning i was driving along 610 and listening to 99.1 (a small vice i have as they play constant christmas music starting somewhere around halloween...) and the song 'white christmas' came on, followed by 'up on the housetop', and i can't lie, living in the south is just not the same when it comes to christmas. i fake it the best i can, drink hot cocoa when the temp gets down to 55 degrees, put the heat on in the morning much to dan's annoyance, hang stockings, and all the rest. but there is nothing like a white christmas up in cold cold iowa, and that's just one of a million reasons i love going 'home' for christmas.

Let me know when you will be in Iowa, would love to catch up. With my new job, I am much more flexible and can met about any time.

It's certainly white in Iowa right now--and apparently getting whiter. They're predicting several more inches for tonight. 55 and sunny sounds nice to me... :)
As for "Twilight," I got your recommendation too late. Sigh. You're right, it was horribly cheesy.
Have a fantastic Christmas!
